The Apex Magnum is the only dual technology electromagnetic and pneumatic acoustic wave device that provides a non-invasive, pain-free treatment for erectile dysfunction (ED), Peyronie’s Disease, female sexual dysfunction, and musculoskeletal problems.

Acoustic Wave Therapy works by using sound waves to rehabilitate existing blood vessels; and stimulating new vessels to form (angiogenesis) in areas where blood flow has diminished. It restores micro-circulation by breaking up plaque in existing blood vessels, thereby improving their oxygen-carrying capacity and boosting cellular metabolism. Rehabilitation of our blood vessels, and the creation of new ones, is not only achievable, but beneficial for slowing aging and reducing the risk of cellular dysfunction.

What AWT Treats

Acoustic Wave Therapy is an effective, low-intensity, non-invasive and pain-free treatment for our patients who suffer from:

  • Erectile Dysfunction (ED)
  • Peyronie’s Disease
  • Female Sexual Dysfunction
  • MusculoskeletalIissues
  • Cellulite
  • Other issues

Erectile Dysfunction

AWT has been particularly successful treating men with Erectile Dysfunction (ED). 52% of men suffer from some sort of erectile dysfunction. 57% of those are 40-60 years old. 80% of ED goes unreported because men are not comfortable discussing their sexual health. Providers of AWT report a 75%+ success rate with six to twelve 15 – 20 minute treatments. Dozens of scientific and clinical studies indicate the efficacy of AWT for ED including a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled study published by the Scandinavian Journal of Urology.

The results of Acoustic Wave Therapy for Erectile Dysfunction include: Short term increase of blood flow caused by vasodilation, Long term improvement of blood flow caused by formation of new blood vessels (angiogenesis), Lymphatic drainage, Washout of toxins, Strengthening of connective tissue which leads to an improvement in elasticity and firmness of the skin, Improved physical appearance, Enhanced sexual performance, and function.

Female Sexual Dysfunction

Acoustic Wave Therapy has been successful in treating womens’ sexual problems in much the same way as it is used to treat mens’ dysfunction issues. Regeneration of those very important blood vessels is the goal and is key to good sexual health.

The results of Acoustic Wave Therapy for Female Sexual Dysfunction include: Repairing of blood vessels, improving blood flow to the vagina, Increased sensitivity and lubrication, Improved tightening, Improved physical appearance, Enhanced sexual performance and function.

Peyronie’s Disease

Peyronie’s Disease can be vastly improved with Acoustic Wave Therapy. Although it is a newer approach in the US, it has been used for decades in Europe. To read a government study about Peyronie’s Disease, click

Cellulite Dysfunction

Acoustic Wave Therapy is a relatively new approach for diminishing the appearance of cellulite. It is a non-invasive, side-effect-free, local therapy type with short application periods. To read a National Institutes of Health article on AWT for cellulite, click

Musculoskeletal Diseases

The principle of Acoustic Wave Therapy is so universal that a multitude of musculoskeletal diseases such as plantar fasciitis, tennis-elbow, tendonitis of the shoulder, jumper’s knee, Achilles tendinopathy and some orthopedic disorders respond positively to AWT.

What is Apex Acoustic Wave (AWT)?

Acoustic Wave Therapy (AWT), also called Low-Intensity Shockwave Therapy (LiSWT), is a non-invasive, drug-free procedure used to treat erectile dysfunction (ED) by restoring natural blood flow and vascular function in penile tissue.

How does Acoustic Wave Therapy (AWT) Work?

AWT uses low-intensity sound waves delivered through a handheld device to the penis and surrounding tissues. These sound waves stimulate angiogenesis (the formation of new blood vessels) and break down micro-plaque in existing vessels, improving oxygenation and circulation to the erectile tissue. This process helps rejuvenate penile tissue and enhance nerve responsiveness.

Standard Protocol & Downtime

A standard AWT protocol includes 6–12 sessions, each lasting about 20–25 minutes. Treatments are spaced over 2–6 weeks, depending on patient response. A topical numbing cream may be applied for comfort; no downtime follows sessions.

How many Apex Acoustic Wave (AWT) sessions will I need and when will I see results?

Apex Acoustic Wave Therapy (AWT) typically requires between 4 and 12 treatment sessions, depending on individual goals, age, and the severity of erectile dysfunction. Most physicians recommend 6 sessions as a starting protocol, though some men benefit from up to 18 sessions for optimal vascular regeneration and performance improvements. Patients often begin to notice improvements within 4–12 weeks as tissue remodeling and new vessel growth occur.  Short series often compound results.

Are there side effects or reasons Apex Acoustic Wave (AWT) might not be right for me?

Apex Acoustic Wave Therapy (AWT) is generally considered a safe and well-tolerated treatment for erectile dysfunction, but—as with any medical procedure—there are some temporary side effects and contraindications to consider before undergoing treatment.

Most side effects of AWT are mild and short-lived, typically subsiding within 24–48 hours. These may include:

  • Slight redness or warmth at the treatment site
  • Mild bruising or swelling
  • Temporary soreness, numbness, or tingling
  • Rarely, small hematomas (minor skin discoloration)

These effects usually resolve naturally and can be managed with over-the-counter pain relievers if necessary.

Apex AWT is not recommended for individuals with specific medical conditions or risk factors.

Contraindications include:

  • Pacemakers or cardiac implants: Acoustic energy may interfere with device function.
  • Blood clotting disorders or use of anticoagulants: Increased risk of bruising or microbleeding.
  • Active tumors or cancer in or near the treatment area.
  • Thrombosis or known vascular malformations.
  • Acute infection or inflammation in the treatment region.
  • Pregnancy or suspected pregnancy.
  • Severe neuropathy or uncontrolled diabetes affecting penile or pelvic nerves.
  • Recent corticosteroid injections (within 4–6 weeks) in the area being treated.
